Today I woke up at 7.35a.m (Whee...) to get ready to go for the Sports Carnival at Sarawak Club. My mum and I were part of the committee in charge of the sports schedule so we totally had to be there early to help out in this and that and make sure things are running smoothly. We ended up arriving there late. Luckily, everyone else were late so most of us arrived around the same time.
First up was the swimming events starting around 9.00 ish. I was suppose to join but because of uh.... feminine reasons...I sorta became the cheerleader for our team (GO TEAM!!). The first event required everyone to dive into the pool to collect stones marked with the letters A, B, C, and O where A=5points B=3points C=1 point and O=0 points. Obviously the team that collected the most points would get 1st place. My job was to stand at the edge of the pool with a plastic bag in hand to collect those stones.
Next up was the relay race with a twist. Each time a person swam across the sort length of the pool he/she has to wear a shirt and has to take out the shirt when he/she has reached the other end to pass the shirt to the next person. Our team came in 2nd but i was pretty sure we came in 1st 'cause the other team only had 7 swimmers while we have 8.. I didn't manage to get any pics for this event 'cause i was busy helping my teammates strip off their shirts. But, I did manage to get a pic of Andre's cut up toe where he cut himself at the edge of the pool when he was trying to get out of the pool while taking off the shirt.
Andre's toe. It bled a lot after this pic was taken.
The last event was the barrel race where somebody has to sit on a barrel while the rest of the team push and pull it to the other far end of the pool. The person right in front had to hold an umbrella. Our team got 3rd for that.
The start of the barrel event...
The next sport was squash! It involved all the little kids and I was in charge of recording the points they collect when they successfully manage to serve the ball. Everyone had fun but one of the girls cried though when she didn't get 1st.
Me, Andre and all the little participants.
After that everybody headed home and we all met up at 7.00p.m for dinner at the Hornbill restaurant. The food was not bad and i was sitting with the squash juniors. Note to self please bring along my PSP when it comes to this kind of dinners 'cause all the kids were playing with their Nintendo DS's and i was just sitting there doing nothing.
Proof....
Towards the end of dinner the kids were bored of playing with their hand-held consoles so they decided to play hide and seek and me being the oh-so-mature 18 year old girl offered to play as 'seeker'. I found them all easily muahahahahaha!!!
It was my turn to hide after that so i went and hid behind the notice board located at the front desk of Sarawak Club. Two security guards walked pass and saw me through the gap but i smiled ever so sweetly at them so they just smiled back and didn't chase me away. I must say that it was a damn good hiding place!! Those suckers (Haha kidding)... i mean those kids walked pass the board so many times and didn't even see my sneaker-clad feet sticking out from under the board. But then all good things must come to an end after my mum called me on my mobile phone to insist that i stop playing and get back into the restaurant to eat. Sigh...
The highlight of the whole evening was after the dinner was over and we were leaving the restaurant room. We were walking pass a group of peeps who were taking pictures in the normal restaurant like any normal family would do. But suddenly....
Michelle who was behind me suddenly said "It's Nicholas Teo!"
And I said "Who?"
Then she was like "It's Zhang Dong Liang"
And i was like "Huh?"
And she was like "IT's that guy who acted in a drama called 'Smiling Pasta'(or smtg like that...)"
So i was like "Is he famous?"
And she shot me a look that says d'oh-yes
Then i was like "Waaaaaaahhh...should i take a picture since i ever so conveniently brought a camera with me?"
Me and my mum were debating this extremely heated topic when Nicholas Teo's uncle who sorta noticed us since we were acting so sakai and all and sorta knew we wanted to take a picture with his nephew so he presented us a very good opportunity by smiling at us. My mum of course smiled back and asked him whether that guy is Nicholas Teo and whether we can take a pic with him.
At that time we were halfway out of the Hornbill restaurant d so the uncle was like "Oh no problem. I'll call him out for you". We couldn't believe our luck!! SO his uncle went in and call him out (they were leaving too so not so pai seh lah) and told him that i wanna take a pic with him. So Nicholas Teo was like "Okay sure". I nearly swooned...haha....even though i didn't really know who he was. So we took a pic...
Me and Nicholas Teo
And of course all the squasher aunties were very excited and they wanted to take a pic too. But i don't think i'm allowed to post that pic online if not i might have an angry mob after my head when i go to the squash courts next time.
So yes, today ended with a blast and I'm glad that i did not go anywhere else that would've caused me to missed this night...
