Leaving on a Jet plane (sorta...)

Helllooo...i'll be leaving for Kl this evening and leaving on the 2nd to Germany and Holland for squash competitions. Will be in overseas for about 2 weeks and come back to kl again for some training. Gaahhh i'll miss my Saarawak laksa and kolo mee!!! And my parents...and my puppy dog Miko!! Well, i'm planning to buy a Germany football jersey coz of the Euro cup and all..

Haih... i'm a bit reluctant to go to Kl early coz i would be either staying all by myself in a nicer room or stay with a bunch of girls whom i do not know and according to my friend...they leave at night and dont come back till morning meaning that i might again be alone in a big big room all by myself...scary....PLus it would be a tad bit hard to communicate with 'em coz they all speak Malay and my malay is damn textbook version so it makes me sound very...er...textbookish...

Anyhoo...good news!! My SAT 2 results came out d adn the results were better than i expected especially for Physics. I expected around a 500 ish score but ended up with 610..A super smart form 6 dude got like 670 for it so my result not bad lah. I got 660 for Math 1 and an amazing 700 for Bio!! Ngeheh i'm quite please with these results...Thank God!!

SO yeah...i won;t be updating much for this month i think...unless i can hijack my friend's laptop when we're traveling....

I promise many wonderful photos when i come back...

Peace,
Rachael

Wanted

My parents and I managed to watch Wanted on the day it came out. It was an awesome action movie, lots and lots of action, blood, cars and explosions. The selection of cast was pretty good too with Angelina Jolie inside who totally fits the character she was playing (She was soo cool!!),

Morgan Freeman was in it too as leader of the Fraternity. The main actor, James McAvoy was a bit disappointing for me 'cause he doesn't really do hero material (but his bod is nice)

SO yeah... If you like fast paced action with loads of guns, blood, guns, cars twirling in the air, more guns and explosive rats... this is the movie for you!! Or simply if you think Angelina Jolie is hot and wanna watch her kick some ass... go ahead! A movie with stunts that are a little bullshit (the car twirling in the air part...trust me) but I love it anyways.

P/S Although Star Cineplex rated it as 18SG be prepared for useless censoring coming your way if you watch the movie

P/P/S *CAUTION* You might be greatly inspired to break all the laws of Physics and try to use your 'instincts' to 'curve the bullet' after watching this movie...that is if you have a gun of course...and great hunks of meaty carcasses to practice with...and Angelina Jolie herself....

Doggy Day-Out

Today was quite a different Sunday from my usual Sundays. I went to church today and they were showing the Pastor Prince dvd preaching during the Planet Shakers concert held in Singapore (I attended that concert btw and it was sooo cool!!). The preaching was really good and I paid my full attention without even yawning once!!( That's how good it was). Adele was back from KL and she came to church today. I somehow knew she was back and before she came, I was sitting in church and I suddenly had a feeling that she is back. Next thing you know she plopped herself on the seat beside me and i wasn't surprise. Jon is back too from KL heheh.

After church around 4p.m plus plus... my parents and I brought my adorable puppy-dog Miko for a 'social' gathering with some dogs at MBKS car park area. At first we couldn't find the place so we parked our car and walked one big round around the area (Jon met up with us there).

We walked to the playground for a bit. After half and hour and still no sign of any dogs whatsoever, we decided to head back to our car which was still far away.

On the way back we bumped into a man with 3 dogs (2 spaniels and 1 other dog). Miko was really curious so we allowed the dogs to sniff each other and stuff sice the man said that his dogs were friendly. Apparently he was wrong as one of the spaniels bit my beloved baby dog on her ear. They were starting a fight so I panicked literally dragged Miko over the drain using her leash, choking her in the process. Luckily she wasn't hurt badly but her ear was bleeding a little (That silly spaniel...my Miko looks so much more better than her). So a little shaken by that incident we continued to head back to our car (Jon had to go halfway for some basketball appointment).

By the time we reached our car... lo and behold we saw all the dogs around the area where we parked our car. There were 4 to 5 magnificent alsatians and about 3 golden retrievers and 1 golden retriever puppy. Miko looked so tiny among them!! She made friends with the little puppy first. She nearly started to hump it but my dad had great insight and superb reflexes and pulled her away before she could start (Thank goodness....)

Then the rest of the dogs gathered around her to see who was the tiny newcomer. According to the dogs' owners they said that their dogs think that Miko was a stuff toy. I was a tad bit insulted as my puppy dog could outrun any of them...yes...including the Alsatian.

And so after many snuffly doggy kisses and wagging of tails, our whole family headed home with a tired but happy and contented Jack Russel Terrier called Miko (^_^)

Sarawak Club Sports Carnival

Today I woke up at 7.35a.m (Whee...) to get ready to go for the Sports Carnival at Sarawak Club. My mum and I were part of the committee in charge of the sports schedule so we totally had to be there early to help out in this and that and make sure things are running smoothly. We ended up arriving there late. Luckily, everyone else were late so most of us arrived around the same time.

First up was the swimming events starting around 9.00 ish. I was suppose to join but because of uh.... feminine reasons...I sorta became the cheerleader for our team (GO TEAM!!). The first event required everyone to dive into the pool to collect stones marked with the letters A, B, C, and O where A=5points B=3points C=1 point and O=0 points. Obviously the team that collected the most points would get 1st place. My job was to stand at the edge of the pool with a plastic bag in hand to collect those stones.

These were the stones collected by our team.(We won that event btw)

Next up was the relay race with a twist. Each time a person swam across the sort length of the pool he/she has to wear a shirt and has to take out the shirt when he/she has reached the other end to pass the shirt to the next person. Our team came in 2nd but i was pretty sure we came in 1st 'cause the other team only had 7 swimmers while we have 8.. I didn't manage to get any pics for this event 'cause i was busy helping my teammates strip off their shirts. But, I did manage to get a pic of Andre's cut up toe where he cut himself at the edge of the pool when he was trying to get out of the pool while taking off the shirt.

Andre's toe. It bled a lot after this pic was taken.

The last event was the barrel race where somebody has to sit on a barrel while the rest of the team push and pull it to the other far end of the pool. The person right in front had to hold an umbrella. Our team got 3rd for that.

The start of the barrel event...

The next sport was squash! It involved all the little kids and I was in charge of recording the points they collect when they successfully manage to serve the ball. Everyone had fun but one of the girls cried though when she didn't get 1st.

Me, Andre and all the little participants.

After that everybody headed home and we all met up at 7.00p.m for dinner at the Hornbill restaurant. The food was not bad and i was sitting with the squash juniors. Note to self please bring along my PSP when it comes to this kind of dinners 'cause all the kids were playing with their Nintendo DS's and i was just sitting there doing nothing.

Proof....

Towards the end of dinner the kids were bored of playing with their hand-held consoles so they decided to play hide and seek and me being the oh-so-mature 18 year old girl offered to play as 'seeker'. I found them all easily muahahahahaha!!!

It was my turn to hide after that so i went and hid behind the notice board located at the front desk of Sarawak Club. Two security guards walked pass and saw me through the gap but i smiled ever so sweetly at them so they just smiled back and didn't chase me away. I must say that it was a damn good hiding place!! Those suckers (Haha kidding)... i mean those kids walked pass the board so many times and didn't even see my sneaker-clad feet sticking out from under the board. But then all good things must come to an end after my mum called me on my mobile phone to insist that i stop playing and get back into the restaurant to eat. Sigh...

The highlight of the whole evening was after the dinner was over and we were leaving the restaurant room. We were walking pass a group of peeps who were taking pictures in the normal restaurant like any normal family would do. But suddenly....

Michelle who was behind me suddenly said "It's Nicholas Teo!"
And I said "Who?"
Then she was like "It's Zhang Dong Liang"
And i was like "Huh?"
And she was like "IT's that guy who acted in a drama called 'Smiling Pasta'(or smtg like that...)"
So i was like "Is he famous?"
And she shot me a look that says d'oh-yes
Then i was like "Waaaaaaahhh...should i take a picture since i ever so conveniently brought a camera with me?"

Me and my mum were debating this extremely heated topic when Nicholas Teo's uncle who sorta noticed us since we were acting so sakai and all and sorta knew we wanted to take a picture with his nephew so he presented us a very good opportunity by smiling at us. My mum of course smiled back and asked him whether that guy is Nicholas Teo and whether we can take a pic with him.

At that time we were halfway out of the Hornbill restaurant d so the uncle was like "Oh no problem. I'll call him out for you". We couldn't believe our luck!! SO his uncle went in and call him out (they were leaving too so not so pai seh lah) and told him that i wanna take a pic with him. So Nicholas Teo was like "Okay sure". I nearly swooned...haha....even though i didn't really know who he was. So we took a pic...

Me and Nicholas Teo

And of course all the squasher aunties were very excited and they wanted to take a pic too. But i don't think i'm allowed to post that pic online if not i might have an angry mob after my head when i go to the squash courts next time.

So yes, today ended with a blast and I'm glad that i did not go anywhere else that would've caused me to missed this night...

Greetings humans!

Hey all! This is my first time blogging. I've decided to give it a go after reading through many of my friends' blogs (Yes, i was inspired by you lot so be proud!!) and since i have plenty of time on my hands when i'm not playing squash so yeah...

Anyhoo, it took me ages to come up with a name for my blog. After typing and retyping many many many lame, corny and cliche' titles some turning out like Rachael's life...(How bloody uncreative is that?!!) I decided on Confessions of a Languid Daydreamer. The question that might be going through your mind right now might be "OH Rachael, please enlighten me on the reason why you chose this wonderful-ish title" or "Omgwtf is Rachael writing??" or something along those lines. So me, being oh so thoughtful, will answer those two questions for you.

Let's see... i'll start on the word Daydreamer. Why Daydreamer? Well that's cause i loooove to daydream. Yes you may ask my friends 'specially my school mates whether i do daydream and they would tell you yes(Well, i hope they would) and that i use to daydream and pretend that i was...a mutant, a secret agent, Elmo, and i had two hot imaginary guy friends who would walk with me to Sarawak Club on Fridays after school when i had no walking partners (I would like to point out that I was in Form 2 at that time so my imagination was sorta...uh...strange. Anyways, Brad and Ryan stopped accompanying me for my hike up the hill from school to club when i was in Form 4) and many more. Oh, I sometime i like to stare into space with a vacant look in my eyes. Please do not misunderstand me and call me 'haulien' if you walk pass me at that time and I didn't even acknowledge your presence that's simply 'cause my mind would be in another world. Yeah as the saying goes 'My body's there but my mind is somewhere' (Actually, i just made this saying up. Witty ain't it?)

Next would be the word 'Languid'. It was the last word i thought up for this title. I was stuck with 'Confessions of a .... Daydreamer' . I didn't know what to fill up that blank with as beautiful, smart, etc would just be too perasan. But then by divine intervention, i was hit with the word languid. I was a little unsure at what it meant so i looked it up and it turns out that the meanings were....
unenergetic (i do act like that sometimes)
unhurried (same as the above)
relaxed (sometimes too relaxed)
lazy (heheh)
languorous (eh?)
dreamy (Ahhah! It is suitable for the word Daydreamer)
droopy (i do look like a droopy wilted plant especially after vigorous exercises)
drowsy (i look like that all the time)
graceful (uh....i would like to think i am....haha...omg)
elegant (lol should've left this one out)

So there you see? There wouldn't be any explanations for the words 'of' and 'a' cause that would be just plain stupid. The word 'confessions' was used 'cause it sounded cool.

The answer to the next question which was 'Omgwtf is Rachael writing?!' would be that she did not know what to write on her first post so she just thought that she would explain why she came up with the name for her blog.....*cue laughter from the readers, audience, whatever*

So yeah...my first post...Yay me!
